Meet the Utah State University Greeks


Welcome to the Utah State University Greeks Blog!

Greek Life at Utah State University includes seven sororities and fraternities. These value-based organizations promote leadership, scholarship, friendship and service. With four fraternities and three sororities, two being culturally based Greek organizations; Greek Life provides a unique opportunity for students to be a part of USU and a life full of campus tradition.

Sororities: Alpha Chi Omega and Kappa Delta
Fraternities: Delta Sigma Phi, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and Sigma Chi
Multicultural Fraternity and Sorority: Psi Sigma Phi and Theta Nu Xi


MEET THE UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY GREEKS

Alpha Chi Omega
Open Motto: Together Let Us Seek The Heights 
  
Philanthropy: Every year, the Beta Xi chapter of Alpha Chi Omega raises a scholarship of at least $1,000.00 for a woman who is trying to re-enter school and has been a victim of domestic violence.
Be sure to check out their Dollar Days event in April to help raise money for this scholarship.




Kappa Delta
Open Motto: Let Us Strive for that which is Honorable, Beautiful, and Highest.

Philanthropy: Kappa Delta collegians and alumnae of Utah State University serve as mentors and volunteers, for the Girl Scouts of Cache Valley. They strive to build confidence in each Girl Scout through many different events and workshops.
Each March, Kappa Deltas nationwide host “Shamrock Events” to raise money for national and local child abuse prevention efforts. The Kappa Deltas at Utah State University raise money for the local organization, Child and Family Support Center in Cache Valley.
Check out the Shamrock Event this March to help raise money for the prevention of child abuse.




Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority
Motto: Sisters of Diversity, Together as ΘΝΞ




Philanthropy: Theta Nu Xi fundraises money for a scholarship that they reward to a deserving applicant every year to help aid her in her educational endeavors. They also volunteer and fundraise for their local philanthropy, the English Learning Center, so those in Cache Valley who don’t speak English very well or at all can obtain that skill to better obtain employment.
Be sure to attend the annual Step Show on Friday, April 6th.



Delta Sigma Phi
Motto: Building Better Men


Philanthropy: The Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity supports organizations such as the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society and the March of Dimes. They are dedicated to serving Utah State University and the community in order to make the world a better place.



Sigma Phi Epsilon
Motto: Building Balanced Men


Philanthropy: Each spring the men of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity host a charity event, The Balanced Man Triathlon. The triathlon is a Sprint Triathlon that features a 500 yard swim, 8 mile bike, and a 5k (3.1 mile) run.



Sigma Chi
Motto: In Hoc Signo Vinces

  
Philanthropy: The mission of Derby Days is simply to serve the community. The Huntsman Cancer Institute is Sigma Chi’s main philanthropic organization. Currently, the Sigma Chis of Utah State University host Derby Day events in the Fall, where all proceeds go to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, UT. Derby Days is the oldest week-long philanthropy on campus.
This past fall, the Jon M. Huntsman Business School along with Sigma Chi Fraternity raised over $16,000 for the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
